First NT Fishing Trip

The first NT Fishing trip for three people keen to experince the best fishing on offer.

Lorraine from Brisbane 57cm Barra
Gareth from Brisbane and Lynda from Canberra with a 70cm Barra
Kieran from Sydney with a 119cm Jew fish

On a 2 Day safari, 25 26 May 2010, at Finniss River and Point Jenny and Point Blaze With Guide Allan Beale from Darwins Barra Base.
3 of the 4 have never been fishing before in the Northern Territory.

25 fish caught on the boat in the 2 days
With at least 21 hook up and drop offs as well.

6 Barramundi, 4 Golden Snapper, 1 rock cod, 1 Black Jewfish, 6 Spanish flags, 2 Reef Shark, 1 Eeltail fish, 1 Silver Catfish, 2 Star Gazers and 1 Tricky Snapper.

(Photo right) Gareth stated that "I Never really caught a fish before that was not suicidal or by accident before."

Wonderful sights, such as a Dugong in the sea, 3 sea turtles and a sailfish sailing over the sea. Also saw 3 groups of bait balls with tuna swarming in feeding.



Gareth's comment;
"Trawling along river for a barra with the imminent contact , so regularly, very little time between strikes. The second day was exciting because of the regular strikes of cod and the enormous sizes."

Lorraine's Comment;
"Just loved any time we were on the water fishing or just motoring. Allan was a great teacher and I caught my biggest fish ever!!!!"

Lynda's Comment;
"I slept very well. I deserved it . I have never been fishing like this before. When you got a bite - you got a fish and Allan knew it all - How when and where not a moment was wasted."

Kieran's Comment:
"Specially came to Darwin to catch a barra - got 3 and kept one. Bonus extra was the 33lb Black jewfish. Full on trip very good."
