Finnis River Fishing 2011 Start Dates & Availability
1st Day /2011 Travel early to Dundee – Drop bags off at Motel/Lodge if room available, load the boat at Dundee Boat Ramp & wait for tractor launch. Travel down the 15Klm coast to the remote Finniss River & complete full day Barra fishing chasing the almighty Saltwater Barra. Threadfin Salmon, and Black Jewfish. First half hour of fishing is training and development preparing the clients for possibly their first Barra hook up and landing. Morning tea, lunches, soft drinks, and all fishing equipment supplied (On a you break it or loose it you replace it basis). After many hook ups and landings at approx 5.00pm we head back to Dundee Boat Ramp, Clean and prepare boat for the next days fishing and move to Motel/Lodge for swim, relaxation, evening meal & overnight accommodation.
2nd & 4th Day / 2011 Up approx 5.30am early breakfast, prepare boat for tractor launch and out early to get to the right spot to do that Barra fishing, or chasing and pulling up the freight train of the sea those metre-plus Black Jewfish, or pulling up 7-8Kg Golden Snappers. Most just smile their heads off whilst holding up 30lb, 40lb, or 50lb plus Big Slapper Barramundi’s. Depending on the tidal influence we normally return back to Boat Ramp approx 5.30pm. Clean and prepare boat for next day, travel back to Motel/Lodge. Down a couple of coldies at the bar, shower, rest up or go for a swim. Take in the evening meal, have a few drinks & sleep.

5th Day / 2011 Up approx 5.30am, pack up clothing pack bags and leave cabins, place luggage in storage. Early breakfast and out fishing, returning back to Boat Ramp approx 3pm clean & refuel boat etc. Move to Motel/Lodge approx 4 pm. Pay accounts, pick up frozen fish catch and bags and return to Darwin’s Barra Base B&B. Unpack car, swim, rest drink and prepare for evening meal where individual awards are issued.
5th - 6th Day /2011 Fly out midnight of 5th Day or stay over for 6th Day at B&B and have day off (sleep in & relax) – own arrangements around Darwin, fly back to home state or stay at our B&B and sight see our Northern Territory (flights arranged by self).
