Fishing Report as at 7st Feb 2015.
Hi Everyone – Hope everyone had a great Xmas & New Year. Well the Run Off is here in earnest, and isn’t it great.
SHADY CAMP - Shady Camp is flowing over the Barrage with clean tallow water and boats are being launched easily on all tides.Neap tides coming back in this week, with again good building tides at the mouth of Sampan & Tommy-Cut Creeks. And as the NT Newspapers and everyone’s Facebook’s are stating many great fish both Barra & King Salmon have been landed at Shady Camp in the One Day. So get out & witness some awesome
Barra fishing at the mouth of Shady Camp, witnessing the Barrage in flow and the birdlife and wildlife is awesome.
Finniss River – has good clean water flowing and good sized Barra have been landed, but presently most recreational fisherman are hitting Shady Camp. We ourselves have not fished the Finniss yet in 2015.
Adelaide River – Adelaide River – Kay Hans owner of Goat Island advised few good fish getting caught on soft plastic and lures, but not a lot of bait as yet. Still good tucker and cold beer though, a great spot to stop for lunch and a break from the weather.
Corroboree Billabong – Closed till approximately mid to late April.
Bluewater Trips – Yes we will be able to complete One Day Bluewater Fishing Trips on Mid to Neap Tides in February. I am sure it will be good fishing out off Dundee and down around Peron Islands. Need a minimum of three persons to book though.
GREAT NEWS – Darwins Barra Base is the LUCKY WINNERS of TOURISM Top Ends Membership Draw for 2015. Winning prize is a $10,000 Marketing Package. We wish to thank Tourism Top End & the Sponsors Channel 9, Imparja TV, Northern Territory Broadcasters, and NT News for putting together this awesome marketing package. We will endeavour to put all this to great use.
