It's not all that hard to get a whack from a giant metre long Barramundi, the trick is in keeping the fish on the line and finally landing it.
These are fighting fish and can throw a lure or straighten a hook easily if given half a chance.
As the video below shows, even a medium sized Barra will put up a good fight. These days most of the really big fish are landed and then released to fight another day - and more importantly to keep breeding and maintaining barra stocks. See more videos here.
