Our guides have extensive knowledge of Northern Territory fishing localities and their waters and will demonstrate great local knowledge to ensure that your group will be at the right place at the right time for that trophy fish that you have dreamed of.
They work as a team in these remote localities to ensure best coverage and knowledge is used to ensure greater catch percentages, as well as safety and security of each other, whilst on the water.

Our Safari experiences have you fishing the pristine run off waters of the Mary River System that flows into Chambers Bay.  Flora and fauna at this time of year is breathtaking, and the birdlife is phenomenal.  You will experience crocodiles in their own habitat and where pigs roam wild and water buffaloes converge on the edges of the floodplains.

As mentioned there are enormous benefits when booking with Darwin's Barra Base. These are:

  • Have your Darwin accommodation on arrival and on return to Darwin with the business that guides you on the Safari at Shady Camp;
  • Courtesy Bus pick up from the Darwin Airport if you arrive prior to 8pm;
  • Guestroom accommodation with Ensuite, and separate function dining room for clients;
  • All fishing clients receive 10% off overnight room rates for any accommodation prior to and after the Safari.
  • Clients frozen fish fillets are stored in our freezer = Great Client Service, that most Motels/Plazas in Darwin will not do.
  • Down load of all clients camera pictures onto computer for burning onto DVD
  • Printing off and laminating A4 size photos for clients trophy fish catches for instant show & tell to friends and family and anyone that will listen to you showing off your Metre-plus Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon or Black Jewfish.
